MICHAEL S. KELLER, CPA
Co-Managing Partner
As the audit director of the Firm and Co-Managing Partner since 2004, Michael Keller is responsible for providing and coordinating ongoing accounting, auditing, tax and business advisory services to a substantial number of our clients. He is also responsible for implementing quality control in the Firm and assists our human resources consulting division in executive searches. Mr. Keller has extensive experience working with closely-held corporations, including manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, real estate entities, and recreational and hospitality businesses. He also works with and advises many of the Firm's non-profit clients.
In addition, Mr. Keller specializes in audits, reviews, and compilations of our Canadian clients who have corporate branches in the United States. He works closely with chartered accountants in Canada and understands accounting requirements on both sides of the border.
In June of 1985, Governor Madeleine Kunin appointed Mr. Keller to the Vermont Board of Accountancy, a governmental body that regulates the profession. He served on the Board for three years, retiring as Chairman in 1988. In 1989, the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants appointed him to the Executive Committee of the New England Quality Review Program, a committee that oversees "peer reviews" in the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine.
Mr. Keller joined the firm in 1979 after receiving his B.S. in business administration from the University of Vermont. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is chairperson of the Chamber's Governmental Affairs Tax Committee. He is the treasurer and on the Board of Allenbrook Homes in South Burlington. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants.
