Michael Flynn is co-founding partner of the Vermont-based CPA and consulting firm of Gallagher, Flynn & Company, LLP. The firm is headquartered in Burlington and has a branch office in Hanover , New Hampshire . With 7 partners and over 70 employees, it is the largest CPA firm in Vermont .
Michael has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colby College . He received his accounting education at the University of Vermont . He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Michael has over 35 years of experience in providing the firm's clients with a wide range of consulting services, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, financing options, succession issues, litigation support and tax planning.
A Certified Valuation Analyst, Michael heads the firm's business valuation and litigation support practice. In this capacity he has been involved in the preparation of dozens of business valuation reports, covering a wide variety of industries. He has been called upon to render expert advice and testimony in matters involving shareholder disputes, lost profits calculations, high net worth matrimonial litigation, business valuations and forensic accounting analyses.
A frequent presenter for professional organizations, Michael has been a panelist on seminars for the legal profession on topics such as "Equitable Divorce Settlements" and "Successful Financial Settlements for Your Divorce Client."
Active in national, state and community affairs for his entire career, Michael has served as Vermont's representative on the Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Board for both the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer and board member of the Vermont Business Roundtable, chaired Chittenden County 's United Way campaign, Chair of the Finance Committee and Trustee of Champlain College and President of the Ethan Allen Club. He is presently Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
Public accounting is a second career for Michael . He initially spent several years in the field of marketing, including time as Director of Marketing Administration for the Head Ski Company and Vice President of Marketing for Sno-Jet Snowmobiles.
Michael served four years as an officer with the U.S. Navy Supply Corps, where his final tour of duty was as Director of Training for the world-wide Navy retail system.
